Could you share a personal story or experience that inspired you to become a doctor?
There was a patient who had suffered from chronic insomnia for many years and had tried all the standard management approaches without success. One day, he told me how natural therapies had transformed his life, and he never looked back.

This experience sparked my interest in new medications and alternative treatment options, especially since insomnia can be notoriously difficult to treat with conventional medications. It was a profound moment that made me realize the potential of alternative therapies.

Beyond your formal education, are there any additional learning experiences or continuing education pursuits that have influenced your medical practice?
Absolutely! I’ve undergone training in aesthetic medicine, which has given me a unique perspective on how treatments can boost not only physical appearance but also self-esteem and overall mental well-being. While I’m still considering how much to emphasize this aspect in my practice, it has certainly broadened my approach to patient care.

How do you stay updated with the latest advancements in your field?
Staying updated is crucial in our field. I regularly attend conferences, webinars, and practice meetings. I also participate in peer group discussions with colleagues and complete various learning modules to fulfil my RACGP CPD requirements. These activities not only keep me informed but also inspire me to integrate new knowledge into my practice.

Are there any achievements or projects in your career that you are particularly proud of?
One of my proudest moments was receiving my RACGP Fellowship. It represented years of dedication, hard work, and sacrifice. Achieving this milestone validated my commitment to providing the best possible care to my patients.

Can you discuss a particular area of interest within your specialty that you are passionate about and explain why it matters to you and your patients?
I have a deep passion for aesthetic medicine because of its profound impact on patients' self-confidence and mental well-being. Helping someone feel better about their appearance can significantly enhance their quality of life and how they interact with the world. It's incredibly rewarding to see the positive changes in my patients' lives.

In what ways do you tailor your approach to meet the unique needs of each patient?

Listening to my patients is at the heart of my approach. Each patient is unique, and I believe in adapting my communication and treatment strategies to fit their individual needs. For instance, if a patient has hearing difficulties or is unfamiliar with the medication or treatment process, I make sure to explain things more clearly and patiently. My goal is to make every patient feel comfortable and understood.

Can you share an example of how you’ve gone above and beyond for a patient?

Certainly! A few years ago, a new patient came in for a routine follow-up on some employment-related health checks. I noticed that a standard blood test had been missed, so I ordered it. The results were concerning, and after further investigation, we discovered he had early-stage bowel cancer.

He had no symptoms, so it was purely by chance that we caught it early. I quickly arranged for further tests and referrals, and thankfully, after surgery and chemotherapy, he's doing well now. It was a reminder of how thorough attention to detail can make a huge difference in someone’s life.

Can you describe how a new patient can start their journey with you? What steps should they expect?:
Starting treatment with me involves a thorough and compassionate consultation where we dive deep into your health history and concerns. Together, we’ll develop a management plan tailored to your needs. I make sure there’s plenty of follow-up and monitoring to ensure we’re on the right path. My goal is to address aspects of your health that may have been overlooked before and support you throughout your journey.

“Listening to my patients is at the heart of my approach.”
